“Been to this restaurant on a few occasions. Firstly the decoration is lovely and we were seated in a timely manner. I would recommend booking ahead as it can get quite busy. The food selection is great, our preferences were the Chinese food as it tasted great and there was a wide selection and also the burgers as these were made fresh in front of you. The cooks who did this were very friendly and kind. I would say the only downfall is that the service for drinks was very slow on all occasions, but especially on the last occasion whereby we were still waiting on drinks well after starting food and had to ask someone again. Overall, the food is great, it's a very pretty place and the prices are good too.”

With a huge variety of dishes on offer, it’s the perfect spot for both adventurous eaters and those who like to stick to their favorites. The best part? You get 90 minutes to indulge in as much as you like, making it great for those who enjoy a bit of everything, while also allowing pickier eaters to grab exactly what suits them. Dishes included curries, crispy duck pancakes, and the BBQ section, which is a treat for meat eaters with the Char Siu pork and short rib. The food is regularly replenished, ensuring everything stays fresh, and the place is kept clean and well-maintained. The service is casual, friendly, and exactly what you’d want from a relaxed group dining experience. At £20–£22 per person (depending on the day you visit), it might seem a little pricier at first, but considering you’d spend about the same on a three-course meal elsewhere, it’s a fair price. There’s also a great kids’ deal at £10.99, and with a massive dessert section complete with ice cream cones, chocolate fountain, and pick-and-mix sweets making it an ideal spot for parties too. We visited with family, and everyone had a nice time. Plenty of options, good service, and a laid-back atmosphere. If buffet style dining is for you, umami is worth a visit.”

“We visited Umami today for my husbands birthday meal, 4 adults and a very excited 2 year old! We were seated promptly and we were able to place an order for our drinks almost immediately. This was our second visit and on both occasions the food has been lovely, all very hot and fresh with a superb selection so there is something for everyone (my personal favourites are the sweet and sour chicken and green bean veggies - although my daughter would definitely vote for the pizza selection and chocolate fountain!!) What really impressed us today & will ensure we return in the future however, was the incredible customer service. I am currently 5 days overdue with my second child and battling my way through this heatwave, I would cry about it but I really can't spare the moisture. After eating a plate of delicious food I started having what can only be described at a hot flush moment and started fanning myself with a drinks menu in an attempt to cool off and feel less dizzy. At first a young waiter with glasses in a green work shirt spotted me and asked if I would like some more ice water for the table and rapidly bought over an ice cold fresh jug which struck me as a super thoughtful act without us having to ask. Secondly a lady with blue hair in a red shirt also saw I was struggling with the heat and put the overhead fan on and told me it would be cooler in a few moments and I would feel the difference, which again was incredibly thoughtful of her to notice and take action. The fact the staff were so attentive and helpful made our experience so much nicer and I genuinely believe that great customer service is a rarity these days, but the staff have put our experience here head and shoulders above other restaurants we have been to lately. So a huge thank you and please don't think your kindness went unnoticed because you have absolutely won over some new faithful customers!! Thank you once again - we will be back!”

“Excellent restaurant. The staff were very welcoming and attentive at all times but never in your face or pushy. The food choice was excellent and catered for our groups various tastes and allergies. Such a wide variety of tasty foods and puddings that appeared to be being topped up and replaced constantly. The restaurant wasn't full when we visited ( 1845 to 2015 ) but it certainly wasn't empty and yet the ambience was excellent allowing for easy conversation round the table and virtually no queues for any food dishes We will certainly be visiting again.”
